The WeatherMaker 38TXA is Carrier’s highest-efficiency single-speed residential air conditioner, with a SEER rating of 14.0.   It is also one of the quietest and most compact available.  “Our research indicates homeowners want high efficiency first and foremost in their cooling systems,” DeMarco adds.   “They also want low sound levels.  The new 38TXA provides both benefits.”
The WeatherMaker 38TXA’s high efficiency rating enables homeowners to reduce their cooling costs by between 40 and 60 percent. It also qualifies the unit for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Energy Star residential program, which promotes the development and marketing of energy-efficient products that reduce energy consumption and pollution.
The sound level for the new unit is as low as 7.1 bels, putting it in a category with the quietest in-home appliances. Similar units on the market average a bel rating of 8.0 (nearly 10 times louder) or higher.
